In Support of Help Holly

AS200 Event - Help Holly 30th March 2017

Holly is a 13 year old girl from Hull that suffers from a hereditary condition known as Muscular Dystrophy which results in progressive weakening and wasting of the muscles. Her parents have fought hard in the past to give Holly a downstairs extension as her disability limits her movement, requiring the support of specialist equipment.

Holly is unable to bathe without someone manually lifting and carrying her upstairs, even then it is challenging as she has no way of supporting herself. At the moment Holly has to lay on a shower bed, where her parents use a shower head to bathe her.

We are raising funds to provide Holly with a specialist bath that would support her complex and specific needs in her downstairs extension. This is something she has always wanted to experience but previous efforts to replace her current facility have always been denied.

Everyday we take for granted showering and bathing but for Holly, it makes a huge difference, she deserves to be able to enjoy a soak in the bath like everyone else!
